Volunteering

Volunteering opportunities with Eastside Roots:

Eastside Roots relies on the wonderful help given by volunteers. So if you would like to contribute some time to the project we would be so happy & grateful to welcome you.

We run volunteer days every week.

1. At our Stapelton Road Train Station site, Easton. Every Tuesday Wednesday & Friday, 10.30am-4.30pm.  Most Saturdays 11am-3pm. Opportunity to learn about gardening, food growing, plants, carpentry and Permaculture. Also plants for sale.

2. At our Trinity Garden site at Trinity Centre, Old Market  - every Thursday, 1- 5pm.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are always available. A volunteer coordinator will show you what needs doing and give you a health & safety talk. Please wear warm outdoor clothing which you dont mind getting mucky and sturdy footwear.

We are looking for new co-ordinators please get in touch. Also if you become a egular volunteer you can take on your own long term project or part of the site.

It would be useful to take a contact number for you & to know if you have any health issues.

Future jobs include setting up a crop rotation sytem, building seating, creating a peace garden, a forest garden and recycled garden, making plant displays, weeding, planting and installation of a rainwater harvesting system plus we need arty types for better signage at both sites.

Becoming a volunteer leader. If you are interested we can offer free training (first aid, health & safety, permaculture etc).

Other help: We are also looking for help with admin, funding, accounts, carpentry and publicity.

Please get in touch if you think you can help.
